Have you ever met someone who you wished had come into your life sooner? My friend, Kim, has as gorgeous soul. She is such a good listener and I feel like I can tell her anything without judgement. Her smile is infectious, and my heart is lighter when I’m around her.
As I get older, I’ve realized that it’s not the quantity of friends that you have, it’s the quality. As people come and go in my life, I’ve tried to hold on to the ones who truly care. I have zero tolerance for negativity and jealousy. A true friend is someone you can shoot the shit with, cry, and laugh with all in one sitting. And this beauty right here has become one of these friends to me.
I got more out of this session, creatively and emotionally than I expected. Kim’s carefree nature lifted me up, which allowed me to shoot any way that I was feeling it. I took the opportunity to focus on movement, emotive portraits, and freelensing (one of my favorites), while capturing her essence.
The sun went from golden, to a speck of red, and dipped down giving us a moody blue hour. I’ve not shot very much during blue hour, but I will certainly be shooting more in the future.
Kim, thank you for letting go and giving me a chance at creative freedom. I hope when you look at your images, you can see the wonderful woman that I see.
